I Love You Too Much To Let You Quit

>From Dave Ludena, Real Estate Rockstar…

I love mentoring. I mean I really love it.

I love that I get to help my students to achieve their goals. I love seeing the light switch on and see them roll into action.

One thing that is inevitable, however, is that tough times and challenges do come. Fear, lack of focus and distraction… these lead to procrastination, become overwhelming and eventually could mean the difference of quitting or success.

Well, I won’t let that happen to my students… not on my watch. If you are going through a tough time, today I’m going to help you learn how to stay in the race.

One of my favorite sales trainers, Tom Hopkins states:

“I am not judged by the number of times I fail, but by the number of times I succeed: and the number of times I succeed is in direct proportion to the number of times I fail and keep trying.”

And, Steven Covey wrote, “I am not a product of circumstances. I am a product of my decisions.”

5 Ways to Help You Stay in the Race

1. Remember WHY you even started in the first place.

Many of my students will list that they want more money and freedom. But money is just dirty green paper. What does that really mean to you?

What is your definition of freedom? You need to peel away the why behind the why. The more detailed you get, the stronger this will support you as the wind and tides hit you.

Also, remember that humans are motivated either by a fear of loss or for desire to gain. In most people, the former is the more dominant motivator.

So, list what is going to happen should you NOT continue. Sometimes the “dream” is too far away...

So, let’s talk about the pain if you give up. Does this mean that your spouse may disapprove? Or that you find yourself in more debt with no way out? Will you just waste your days in “the Matrix?”

>2. Remember the alternative.

Think back and look at the places in your life where you may have given up. What was the result?

Consider this: Maybe the tough times you are facing right now would have been avoided if you had NOT given up too early.

Now envision what will happen this time if you don’t keep going. This should boost you a bit.

3. Know that your circumstances are not unique.

It could be foreclosure, bad health, loss of job, abuse. I promise you, someone in taller weeds than yours has overcome and created success.

It’s not the absence of tough times that allows you to create success. It’s the person learning how to keep going INSPITE of the challenges that creates success.

4. Fortune favors the bold.

This means, when you learn how to keep going despite your challenges and circumstances, resources will appear to you. New relationships will pop up where they wouldn’t have if you were just complaining about your tough lot in life.

Stop asking for help and help yourself, and you will be amazed at what and who shows up.

There is ONE. This isn’t a dress rehearsal. Stop waiting for the perfect circumstances or for the stars to align. They rarely do.

Just go do it… what’s the worst that can happen?

Remember, Just Don’t Quit

So, if you find yourself in a tough spot, just remember, there are many before you in worse situations who prevailed. The only difference between them and you is that they didn’t quit… so now you just follow suit.

Don’t give up… you can do this.

“If you are going through hell, keep going.” ~Winston Churchill.

Rock on,
